About Our School
At Manordale, our goal is to prepare all of our students for the 21st century. Supporting education for all, we use a balanced literacy and numeracy approach to help students develop effective communication skills. We follow an inclusionary model where all students are supported in their classroom, during their daily work, as well as in various settings within the school. Following the principle that “what is necessary for some is good for all”, we are introducing a variety of technology equipment and software to our students, to be used throughout the day, supporting our students in their access to the Ontario curriculum expectations.
Our motto – We Learn From One Another / On apprend de tous et chacun – reflects our community’s rich diversity and background. Students chose the wolf for our mascot as a symbol of our willingness to work together. Our school colours are blue, gray, and yellow.
Students
Manordale Public School students represent many countries and encourages students to celebrate all cultures, including Canadian. The Global Village Club has students learning about various cultures and world issues.
Our students participate in a wide range of fundraising events, such as: United Way, UNICEF, Jump Rope for Heart and the Terry Fox Run. In December, students are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items for our food drive and to donate to the “Caring and Sharing Christmas Exchange”.
Staff
Our diverse staff has a wealth of expertise in all aspects of education. Some of our teachers have degrees in music and visual arts while others have extensive backgrounds in physical education, special education and language learning. Educational Assistants (EA) and Early Childhood Educators (ECE) have amazing expertise and are engaged in conversations and daily action for student support. We also welcome co-op students, student teachers, tutors and volunteers into our classes. Many of our teachers hold specialist qualifications in Special Education, ESL, Computers, French as a Second Language, Drama and Music. Teachers also support student learning through mentoring, coaching, and extracurricular activities.

Manordale is known for its strong tradition of community involvement and benefits from the support of volunteers who work tirelessly to help students in the classroom, library, on field trips and in our food programs.
The Manordale School Council is dedicated to strengthening educational opportunities and partnerships with the community and is committed to making the school a better place for our students to learn by coordinating volunteer activities and providing a liaison between families and the school.
We offer the following academic programs:
- Full-day Bilingual Kindergarten (JK-SK): 50% English instruction and 50% French instruction.
