Principals Message

Welcome to Manordale Public School – ”Home of the Wolves”!

At Manordale Public School we thank the Algonquin Anishinaabe People, and respectfully acknowledge that our learning, exploring, discovering, playing and growing take place on their unceded, and unsurrendered territory, and we recognize their enduring presence on this land.

It is a pleasure and honour to begin a new journey of learning and partnerships as the Principal of Manordale Public School for the 2024-2025 school year. Manordale is a vibrant dual-track K-6 school offering Regular English with Core French and Early French Immersion (EFI) programs. With a student population of approximately 300, we are incredibly proud of the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that enrich our school community.

At Manordale, every child belongs!  Our dynamic and caring staff strives to empower our students, inspire excellence and build caring leaders. We are inclusive of all student needs, welcoming and respectful of a diversity of abilities, social identities, racial, cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Through progressive and restorative practices, we emphasize relationship building, accountability, and empathy to foster a culture of mutual respect. These practices are woven into our educational approach, helping students cultivate self-awareness, build conflict resolution skills, and develop a strong sense of responsibility toward themselves and others.

Our school is guided by a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusive education. We strive to celebrate what makes each of us uniquely human and to ensure that every student feels a sense of belonging. Through rich learning opportunities and a supportive environment that encourages risk-taking, we strive to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to become independent, lifelong learners and global citizens who contribute positively to society.

Manordale Public School is supported by a dedicated team of educators and staff, including a principal, vice-principal, teachers, EAs, ECEs, a MLO, Library Technician, Office Administrator, Office Assistant, and Custodial staff. Together, with the contributions of community volunteers and OCDSB support staff, we work collaboratively to enhance the educational experiences of our students.

We recognize the importance of student voice and involvement in shaping school life. Students are encouraged to share their ideas, participate in decision-making, and engage in a variety of clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities. These opportunities promote not only academic success, but also social and emotional well-being, helping students build confidence and resilience.

Manordale has an active Family School Council who support student initiatives and implementation of learning opportunities and community connections. Please join us on the 2nd Monday of the month where you can learn more about lunch programs, community events & fundraisers to support student learning. We value the diversity of our community voices and perspectives and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for being part of our incredible school community. We look forward to working together to continue making Manordale PS a place where all students feel valued, heard, appreciated and a strong sense of belonging. Should you have any questions, concerns, or wish to reach out to the school, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or your administration team.  We are here to help and support!

Kindly,

Lisa Langill, Principal
