Truth and Reconciliation

September 30th marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, a vital opportunity for our school community to move forward with commitment and hope. This day is rooted in the brave and enduring spirit of Residential School Survivors and their families. It is a time to honor their strength and resilience, recognize the truths of the past, and commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation—not as a single event, but as a continuous journey.
Wearing an orange shirt and focusing on the message that "Every Child Matters" emphasizes our collective responsibility to foster a learning environment where all Indigenous students feel valued, safe, and empowered to thrive. Our school views this work through an asset-based lens, recognizing the rich cultural heritage, deep knowledge, and profound strength that Indigenous peoples contribute to our school and community. As a school, we commit throughout the entire year, to seek knowledge, listen with open hearts, and take meaningful actions toward building a more just and equitable future together.
